Our Story
Lighting Candles. Spreading Hope.
Hi, I’m Priyasha Ghosal — founder of Light of Love, and the heart behind every hand-poured scented candle. What started as a summer hobby in 2022 has grown into something much more meaningful: a mission to bring warmth into homes and hope to children battling cancer.
It all began when my aunt gifted me some crafting supplies. I started experimenting with candle-making just for fun. That fall, I decided to take a leap and sell my creations at the Beachwood Fall Festival. I was blown away by the support from my friends, family, and school community — and with their encouragement, Light of Love was born.
In 2024, I entered the Young Entrepreneur Ohio Pitch Challenge and was honored to win in the Social Entrepreneurship & Community Revitalization category. That experience gave me confidence to keep growing — and through the Young Entrepreneur Institute, I’ve had the chance to sell at local markets including West Side Market, Woofstock, Shaker Square, and more! I’ve since been featured on Channel 3 WKYC’s “We the Kids” segment and in Beachwood Buzz Magazine. Most importantly, I’ve had the chance to meet so many amazing people and share my mission even further!
Why I Started
Cancer has deeply affected my family. My grandma is a cancer survivor. But I lost my grandpa, one of my biggest champions in every way, to this deadly disease. I witnessed how hard the journey can be for the families, not just emotionally, but also financially. That’s why I decided to donate all profits from Light of Love to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, to help kids and families facing similar battles.
What Makes Us Special
At Light of Love, our candles aren’t just “a scented candle”. Each one is hand-poured with care, using eco-friendly ingredients and they are in a variety of eye-catching designs: such as teddy bears, seashells, flowers, cupcakes, and more— in every color you can imagine.
But more than how they look or smell — it’s about what they do. By lighting a “light of love” candle, you are spreading warmth, love and hope and bringing smiles to the faces who are facing a tough moment in life.
💛 💛100% of proceeds are donated to supporting brave children and families fighting cancer. Until 2024, I donated my proceeds to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. As I expanded my initiative, I have also started donating a portion to UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, Cleveland.
From speaking to people at markets to appearing on WKYC’s “We the Kids,” every step of this journey reminds me that no act of kindness is ever too small.
